I. BACKGROUND
The National Food and Nutrition Commission have yet again formed eight (8) more new Radio Listening Groups in both Lundazi and Petauke districts in the Eastern Province of Zambia. This was necessitated by the Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) Project supported by USAID, which has mainly focused on the two districts.

The Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries in collaboration with the National Food and Nutrition Commission has officially handed over a goat multiplication centre to beneficiaries in Kapilibila ward in Samfya District.
The goat multiplication centre was constructed with support from the National Food and Nutrition Commission’s 1st 1000 Most Critical Days Programme with the goal of increasing small livestock production in the district.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock in Samfya District has changed its approach in the goat pass-on-gift intervention area to make the programme more effective and sustainable to the beneficiaries.
The Nutrition Cooperate Walk recently held in Mbala District of Northern province highlighted a number of issues which are of utmost importance to the improving of nutrition in the district.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the Traditional Leaders, Senior Chief Mwamba mentioned some of the key roles Traditional Leaders play in Nutrition activities.
Some of the roles include how Traditional Leaders reduce traditional beliefs that affect nutrition.
He mentioned that Traditional leaders engage community members to grow and consume locally available diverse foods.
The First 1000 Most Critical Days Programme in Samfya District of Luapula Province continues to score success in reducing child stunting levels by way of various interventions being implemented in the district by the National Food and Nutrition Commission (NFNC).
One of those priority intervention areas under the programme is the training of beneficiaries in fish farming techniques and technologies and is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Services.
